The pleasure from online shopping is real when it comes to shopping for rugs. Beautiful professional pictures clearly sell the rugs faster than in the store. The convenience of carrier shipping a bulky rug to your home is even better.
However, when it comes to open the new rug from the roll, a lot of us tend to be disappointed that it doesn't stay flat and look perfect as in the pictures. Here I am going to share with you 3 easy tips to flatten your new rug from the roll.
1. Reverse Roll The Rug for a Day
If you can wait for a day or two, you can simply reverse roll the rug in the opposite direction and leave it so for a day. This allows the bent fibers to lay in the opposite direction as expected.

2. Place Heavy Objects on the Curled Corners of the Rugs
However if you are in a hurry, you can lay the rug flat and then place heavy object like a a pile of books, or lift-weight over the curled corners or any curled spots. You will need to leave it there for at least a few hours. If it doesn't flatten, repeat the process until the rug flattens nicely.

3. Use Steamer For Softer Backing Rugs
The last method I recommend today is depending on the type of rug backings. If the back of rug is made of suede or soft cotton like
this, you can use a steamer or low heat iron to flatter the curled area. Do not place the steamer on the same spot for more than 2 to 3 seconds. This works wonder for rugs that have been bent or folded to fit a small package.

Let me know if you have applied any of these methods, especially the last one. I would love to hear from you in the comment below.
