HOW TO ADD COLORS INTO YOUR BEDROOM

HOW TO ADD COLORS INTO YOUR BEDROOM

I know it can be hard trying to add colors to your home, since most of houses (especially new built) are painted in neutral colors. Some of us are just afraid to bring bold and bright colors into the home, fearing that “it is too much.” So, they just stick with neutral. But, it doesn’t have to be that way. Colors can be fun. The right colors, in fact, can bring out your unique taste and personality. So, today, I am going to share some tips with you on how to add colors to your home, particularly your bedroom.

1. Your favorite color
This may seem like a no brainer. But, some times, we just do not know where to start. So, start with the color you love. the color that attracts your attention. Do you like bold, bright color? Or, do you like pale color? Let the color inspire you to grab something that beautiful to your room. It can be a set of pillows, throw blanket, a wallpaper or a lampshade.

2. Now add contrast
The next simple thing you can do is to add contrast to the colors you just find. This is a perfect and easy way to bring out your favorite colors, as well as soften them out with the background. For example, a perfect gold duvet cover would go perfectly with a green bedsheet. It’s just pleasant to the eyes.

3. Repeat the Process
Do you know that harmony of all design elements is the key to a beautiful interior? Now that you have chosen your favorite color, and add a contrast to it, repeat the process throughout the entire room, from soft furnishing to wall art, to achieve harmony in your design.

4. Bring Greenery into your room
Another way to add dimension and colors to a bedroom is to bring plants and greenery with it. If you are not a fan of real plants or simply can’t keep one alive for a while, opt in for a high quality faux plant. Monstera is among the most popular indoor plants right now. And, if you choose to buy a faux one, they come in many sizes. I recommend a 3 - 4 ft plants for a regular size bedroom.

5. Accent Rug
My favorite and easiest way to bring dramatic change to a room is to incorporate an area rug. A hand knotted silk rug definitely makes a room more colorful. 8 x 10 ft is a recommended size for a bedroom size approximately 13’ x 15’.

6. Be patient
Beautiful things take time. Trust the process. Cherish the moment. Take your sweet time. That’s always my advice to decor enthusiasts out there who want to update the looks of their home, but feel frustrated and clueless on where and how to start. It may take longer than you think for you to curate and put them all together. You may have to make a few trips to your favorite home goods store or come to our website multiple times to browse for what you love. It does take time to put beautiful things together. Be patient.
