FAQs

You can use picture hanging strips that are rated for the weight of the piece if the metal wall art doesn't come with built-in hooks. Strong double-sided mounting tape or removable adhesive discs can work on smooth surfaces for small, light things. If the metal allows, connect D-rings or sawtooth hangers to the back of heavier art with epoxy or screws. Then, use nails or wall anchors to hang it.

First, think about how big and which way your wall faces. Large, open walls look good with pieces that are too big or arranged in groups. The style and color scheme of the art should go with the furniture and mood of the room. If the room is modern, abstract or simple designs might work best. For bohemian or old rooms, look for art that is textured, layered, or maximalist. Visual weight is always something you should keep in mind. Light areas often need darker pieces to balance them out, and vice versa.

For a safe placement, use drywall anchors or toggle bolts, especially if the piece weighs more than 5 pounds. First, mark where the hooks will go, make pilot holes, and then put the anchors in. Then put the art up with screws. Standard picture nails or adhesive wall hooks made for sheetrock may be enough for lighter pieces. Always use a level to make sure things are level and stop them from leaning.
