Love and Psyche, a marble reproduction of Carrara of the masterpiece of Canova (inspired by the famous work "The Metamorphoses" by Apuleius) sculptor neoclassical, made in 1781 - 1793, kept at the Museum of Louvre, Paris.
Venus knowing the existence of Psyche (famous for her beauty), is jealous, she sends her son Cupid to make her fall in love with the ugliest, meanest man on Earth and be covered in the shame of this relationship. The god, however, misses his aim and the arrow of love hits his foot instead and consequently, he falls madly in love with the girl.
This beautiful sculpture represents the god Love kissing the mortal Psyche.
